Who we are
Nyimbwa multi-purpose Organization
Nyimbwa multi-purpose Organization of people living with HIV/AIDS was established as a Community Based Organization (CBO) in 2002 after seven founding members confirmed their HIV positive status.
In August 2012, the Organization was officially registered as a Non Governmental Organization by the Ministry of Internal Affairs under charity No 9343
Our Vision
A community which is free from AIDS and has access to comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services.
Our Mission
To support communities to reduce HIV transmission and help those who are already infected to gain access to HIV/AIDS treatment, care and support.
Our Goal
To prevent further spread of HIV and tackle its adverse socio- economic impact on the community through supporting self help initiatives.
Population size
Luweero District has a population of approximately 394,200 according to 2008 Housing and Population census.
Out of the total population, 200800 were females and the rest were males.
Sex And Age Composition
The District sex ratio is 97 males per 100 females. Children constitute 59% while those below the age of 5 years are 19% of the total population.
The dependency ratio is 128 per 100 economically active persons in the age group of 15 - 64 years.
